ORI supported the Forest Society in developing a visitor use management framework for the Mount Major property, one of New Hampshire’s most heavily visited conservation areas.
ORI provided advisory support for visitor use management tools used to assess needs, prioritize actions, and inform capital planning. Findings helped guide practical strategies to improve visitor experience while protecting natural resources.
This project demonstrates how applied, site-specific analysis can help conservation organizations respond to high-use conditions and make informed management decisions

As part of a collaborative team led by CRO Planning and Design, ORI provided applied consulting support for RecReadyNH, a statewide digital guidebook designed to help New Hampshire communities plan and invest in outdoor recreation projects.
ORI contributed advisory support to the development of planning frameworks and tools that help communities assess needs, prioritize projects, and support capital planning and grant applications. RecReadyNH was designed to be accessible and usable by communities of all sizes, from small volunteer-led towns to larger municipalities.
This toolkit illustrates how research-informed guidance can empower local decision-makers to build resilient and inclusive outdoor systems.

As part of a collaborative team led by Blaze Partners, ORI provided applied research support for a statewide outdoor recreation marketing and communication initiative that resulted in the Wildly Responsible recreation education and tourism campaign.
ORI contributed visitor research, message testing, and campaign evaluation to inform public safety messaging, responsible recreation education, and tourism communications. This work directly supported the development of Wildly Responsible, a public-facing campaign that encourages residents and visitors to safely and responsibly engage with New Hampshire’s outdoors while helping protect natural resources.
This project demonstrated how applied research and evaluation can strengthen communication and safety strategies and support statewide outdoor recreation goals.
